I encountered a cooperative porcupine that faced me head on allowing for this shot.  Many times they feel threatened and will only show you their rear end with quills.  Their front side, as seen here, also has quills but they are hidden beneath the long guard hairs.

A refurbished steam locomotive owned and operated by the union pacific railroad made a trip across country in a commemorative effort.  It had just parked for the night as it vented the final excess steam under strong storm clouds.
