About Artist
Marilyn Maxwell
Marilyn is a fine art photographer living in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was born in Ft. Worth, Texas. Her love of African wildlife began in childhood with trips to the zoo with her dad. Marilyn studied painting and art history at Texas Christian University during the 1980s. A trip to Africa in the late 1990s sparked a passion for photography as her creative medium of choice. Her early portfolios focused on spiritual practices in Mexico and Guatemala. A trip to Tanzania in 2013 revealed how much trouble the animals were in, and the series, “At Risk” began.
