These Rockhopper penguins had just returned from feeding at sea. Initially they stood preening at the water's edge. Suddenly they dashed across the sand towards their rocky nest sites. One lone penguin was left preening. When it realized it had been left behind, it tried to catch up.

I am a retired veterinarian and life-long wildlife photographer. I have been shooting Nikon cameras for well over 50 years. I have traveled from The Arctic to Antarctica and many points in between to pursue my passion for nature photography. In addition to topside (land) wildlife photography, I am an avid underwater photographer as well.
